How to Play & Controls
The objective is straightforward: prevent the glowing orb from bypassing your paddle while trying to bounce it past the AI opponent. We have optimized the controls for every device:
- Desktop / PC: Move your paddle using the A and D keys, the Left and Right directional arrows, or simply drag your mouse across the game board for 1-to-1 precision.
- Mobile Devices: Use the dedicated on-screen touch buttons (◀ and ▶) located below the arena, or drag your finger directly across the paddle area.
- Soft-Serve Mechanic: After every scored point, the ball will respawn in the center and travel at a slow, predictable speed (Max 4.0). This gives you a brief moment to react and position your paddle perfectly before the high-speed rally begins.
Mastering the Difficulty Levels
Unlike standard arcade games, Cyber Pong features a dynamic physics engine where the ball accelerates after every single paddle hit. Your chosen difficulty drastically changes this behavior:
- Easy Mode: Perfect for relaxing. The AI is slow, and the ball has a hard speed limit. It will never accelerate past a comfortable, manageable pace.
- Medium & Hard: The classic experience. The ball will progressively get faster the longer the rally lasts, requiring sharp hand-eye coordination.
- Extreme Mode: A true reflex test. Not only is the AI incredibly fast, but the ball's acceleration multiplier is maxed out. Within just a few hits, the ball transforms into a high-speed projectile reaching insane speeds.
Pro Tip: Utilize the edges! Hitting the ball with the outer edge of your paddle will reflect it at a sharp 60-degree angle, making it much harder for the AI to reach it in time.
