About Cyber Tetris
Welcome to Cyber Tetris, a modernized, neon-infused puzzle game that brings the world's most famous block-stacking challenge right to your browser. Re-engineered with pure HTML5 and JavaScript, this game offers a lightweight, extremely responsive, and lag-free environment. Whether you are playing on a wide desktop monitor or a mobile touchscreen, the game scales perfectly to ensure an optimal experience.
How to Play & Controls
The goal is to survive as long as possible by guiding falling tetrominoes (geometric shapes) into complete, gapless horizontal lines. When a line is completed, it vanishes, earning you points and freeing up space.
- Moving & Rotating: On a desktop, use the Arrow keys or WASD to move and rotate the active block. On a mobile device, use the dedicated D-Pad buttons located beneath the grid.
- Hard Drop: Instantly slam a block into place by pressing the Spacebar or tapping the fast-forward button (⏬) on mobile. This is essential for high-level play.
- The Ghost Piece: A faint, transparent shadow of your current block will appear at the bottom of the grid. Use this projection to aim your drops with pinpoint accuracy.
Advanced Mechanics & Pro Tips
If you want to achieve a high score and survive the later, faster levels, you need to master these advanced mechanics integrated into our game engine:
- The 'Hold' Feature: Press Shift, C, or tap the HOLD button to stash your current falling piece into the top-left reserve box. You can swap it out later when you need a specific shape (like the straight Cyan 'I' block) to clear a massive combo.
- Scoring Combos: Clearing a single line yields a standard score, but clearing four lines at exactly the same time (known as a "Tetris") multiplies your score significantly. Always try to build a solid structure with a one-block-wide gap, waiting for the long 'I' piece to drop in.
- Level Scaling: For every 10 lines you successfully clear, you advance to the next Level. Be prepared—the gravity increases and pieces will drop substantially faster with each new level. Maintain a flat, even surface to avoid getting trapped when the speed ramps up.
